Practice Information
We practice all year round, with the exception of November and December. Our schedule is as follows:
May – October (198 A. Stewart Road, Shortt's Lake)
Monday and Thursday 5:45 pm pfd's on, ready the boat and warm up 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm recreational paddle 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm competitive paddle (ie. race practice)
The recreational paddle is on Monday nights only
*As fall approaches, these times may change due to being dark earlier please keep checking back
We practice rain or shine, the only weather conditions that will keep the boat docked are thunder/lightening or unusually high winds (whitecaps).
January – May
We practice at Truro Centennial Pool 7:00 – 8:15
Items you may want to bring: Water – in plastic bottles only Water shoes/sandles Change of clothes as you will probably get wet Sunblock Hat/sunglasses
During the off season everyone is encouraged to keep active in order to stay in shape for the upcoming season. This includes our weekly pool practice. The teams physiotherapist provides a circuit training class one night per week for interested persons. There is also a weight training program that has been designed specifically for paddlers. These are some of the options available to people. You may have your own program - just keep active!
